From day one, Vice President Kamala Harris has been a key partner in leading the most pro-labor Administration in our lifetimes.
With Kamala Harris in the White House, together we will continue to build LIUNA’s strength,
expand job opportunities, defend Davis-Bacon prevailing wages, secure our pensions, and
improve the economy.
Vision for the Future
Kamala's top economic priority as President will be lowering costs, and building up the middle-class.
She will continue to implement the historic infrastructure investments in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Kamala will fully implement high labor standards and incentives for good jobs, including the project labor agreement mandate, in federal infrastructure investment.
She is calling for the construction of 3 million new housing units to end the housing supply shortage.
She will cut taxes for middle-class families, including providing up to $6,000 per child in tax credits.
Fighter for Infrastructure and Good Jobs
With LIUNA members at her side, Harris announced historic investment in lead pipe service line removal that will invest in good union jobs restoring drinking water.
She advocated for strong wages and unveiled the final Davis Bacon rule to modernize and strengthen prevailing wages on federal infrastructure investment.
Harris played a critical role in rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, investing in good-paying union jobs, bringing manufacturing back to America, lowering prescription drug costs, and raising wages.
She cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate for the Inflation Reduction Act, paving the way for green energy projects built by union members.
Champion of Union Rights
Harris led the White House Task Force on Worker Organizing and Empowerment, where she championed new worker organizing and training to create pathways to good union jobs.
As a U.S. senator, she introduced legislation to extend overtime rights and guarantee new minimum wage rights for agricultural workers.
Harris vigorously advocated for workers’ freedom to form or join a union and strongly supported the PRO Act in the Senate to reform broken labor laws.
Harris introduced the Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights to guarantee domestic workers protections against harassment and discrimination, meal breaks, a guaranteed minimum wage, and overtime pay.
Harris stood with striking workers and walked the picket line in 2019 with the UAW at the GM facility near Reno, Nevada.
Building an Economy that Works and Protecting Pensions
Harris cast the tie-breaking vote for the American Rescue Act which restored our economy and saved the pensions of more than a million union workers and retirees.
Harris championed a first of its kind affordable housing plan that will invest in more housing to help reduce the strain of housing costs on families.
Headed the Administration’s efforts to increase access to affordable child care and expand the child tax credit.
As Attorney General of California, Harris stood up to anti-union forces to protect pensions.
Also as Attorney General, she cracked down on corporate greed, Tackled Wage Theft, and took on the Big Banks after the 2008 financial crisis to deliver relief for struggling homeowners.
